We’re on ITV’s Daybreak show

I’m blogging this from s secret central London location, well a top notch hotel overlooking the London Eye. We are here at the invitation (and expense!) of Daybreak, ITV’s breakfast show. It’s the culmination of a white knuckle ride during the past 48 hours all triggered by that amazing letter from Kate to Fabian. Press and media have shown an insatiable demand for this story and it’s particularly gratifying that the work of the children’s unit at the Marsden gets recognition from this exposure. And yet life and treatment for Fabian continues as per norm. Today we were back on the unit for his BMA which went without complication although once again a sample was problematic and they took instead a trephine (core of hip bone) which has left him a bit sore, as you’d expect! The result, fateful or otherwise is expected by Thursday, the day on which he will be admitted as an inpatient once again. So we will thoroughly enjoy tomorrow. Do catch the live show if you can or on ITV Player at your leisure. I’m off for a jacuzzi.

    Hey Fabian!

Mum left your blog open on her laptop, thought I’d take the opportunity to say hi. Couldn’t believe it when I opened the paper on the way home the other day and saw you chatting to Kate! Excellent. Was she lovely? I’ve kept the page for mum, she seems to be collecting them…

Gosh, you have grown up so much since I last saw you all properly. It wasn’t that long ago, but I keep thinking you guys are all little still, like when I used to babysit. Don’t worry, I won’t write any embarassing memories on here!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, to let you know that I’m praying for you, and hope all goes well over half term.
